Get Involved in Netball
Being involved in netball does not just mean playing the game. There are so many ways to support your club and the county without having to lace up the trainers and pull on the bib. Coaching and officiating qualifications are available through England Netball and there is always support available for those choosing to go down this route. Other voluntary roles, involving organisation and admin for example, are available across the county as well.
CoachING
Cumbria Netball is always at hand to help coaches on all stages of their journey. Whether it be with junior or adult netball groups, there is a coaching opportunity out there for you. Why not coach at your local club and pass on your netball knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm to develop players and help them reach their potential?
Officiating
In Cumbria, we have a range of opportunties to officiate for clubs, leagues and the county as a whole. These arise at all levels, including Premier League, county trials, club fixtures, or regional festivals and tournaments. Umpires on the very first stages of their journey are supported and encouraged to move up the scale and gain in experience.
Volunteering
There are a number of ways to get involved in netball without coaching or officiating. Clubs and leagues are always on the lookout for keen volunteers to help at junior sessions, assist with administrative tasks, or undertake aspects of club or team management, for example.
Young Volunteers
- 10 hours – England Netball water bottle and certificate
- 25 hours – Squissle and certificate
- 50 hours – POYP t-shirt and certificate
- 100 hours – POYP hoody and certificate
- 200 hours – £50 England Netball course discount and certificate
- 400 hours – Trophy presented at the annual ONE Awards and certificate
HOW DOES IT WORK?
All registrants for POYP will receive an email with a log sheet. You have two years from that day to start logging and claiming your rewards. Once you hit one of the key milestones listed above, let EN know by uploading your log sheet to their portal. They will then send out your rewards in the post.
